EXERSICE TIPS

When you have a dog you should take them out for a walk at least once day.
Let them run around your yard to explore their home.
Make sure you get out to play with them, they love that.
Always have water ready when you get back from walks, your dog will need it.

Dog Tips

Taking your puppy home

When you first get home let the puppy explore they home, they might be a little scared.
If so pick them up and hold them.
Be calm about it, I know it is fun to have a new dog, but the sooner your calm, the sooner your puppy is calm.
For the first few nights they might will cry, but they to get comfort, after that it shouldn't be a problem.
Spend the next few days getting your puppy comfortable with their home

Training

If you ever want to train your puppy train them while they are young.
make sure you use the same command, or the dog doesn't listen to you.
If the dog listen and does what you asked reward it with a treat or rub their belly(most dogs like that.)
If you want a good trained dog and need some help, most local pet stores offer classes.
They will help you get comfortable training them.

Food

Find a dog food that the vet recommends not just any food (try to find one that has to do with their size.)
If you ask the person you got it from they can tell you what kind of food to feed it.
When you want to start them on different food mixed it with their old food so they won't get sick.
Make sure you talk with your vet about switching them over to adult food .

Things not to do

Try not to give them to many treats, eventually they will get addicted and become over weight.
DO NOT EVER HIT YOUR DOG!! Their will protect themselves and hurt you.
Don't feed them people food they will sick and always want it.

Toys

You can bring your dog to most local pet stores. Well you are there let them choose the toys or treats they would like. If your dog seems to rip toys make sure to get the kind the pet store people suggest. Some pet stores offer if your pet rips the toy in the first month then they will replace it. Make sure to check with them though just in case they don't offer it.

FINDING A DOG

When you go to look at dogs make sure they pick you.
Dogs are not just fun they are a lot of work, but at the end it's worth it all.
Always bring your kids, make sure the dogs and kids are comfortable with each other.
If the person you get the dog from seems to be friendly, most of the time the dogs will be quite friendly and well looked after.
